Back Speed Stop Pictures

Sunday at PPIR – Road Course and Speed Stop Pictures

After a successful and fast autocross on Saturday, we were ready to see the competitors rip up the PowerStop speed stop course and the Falken Tire road course. Additional to the world-class roval at PPIR, they have a TON of room to run multiple competitions at once! So while the road course was running inside the track, the speed stop was running in the back parking lot. We saw cars shuffling from one course to the other all day long.

Dual Speed Stop at Pikes Peak International Raceway

The dual speed stop course that the Optima Batteries team puts together are unique to each location and even each event. We run diagonally across the parking lot at PPIR giving the left and right courses completely different feels. While they are unique courses, once the drivers got them figured out they were able to get roughly the same time left vs right. That is the mark of well-designed courses, that they could be so different but yield the same elapsed time.

The End of a Great Race Weekend

We saw such a high diversity in the vehicles at PPIR, everything from electric cars to a pro-touring International Scout! We had a ton of first timers and we invited a new batch of competitors to OUSCI 2018. Congrats to all of the winners, we can’t wait to see all of these cars at SEMA tweaked for the ultimate test of a street car!
